The Congress has passed a political resolution against the BJP government to dethrone it terming it most corrupt in the country and undeserving to remain in power in the state. The party resolution was passed during the first meeting of the PCC executive which held at Congress Bhawan on Friday.
In its resolution, the party said that corruption prevailed in the state from Mantralaya to remote forest areas. The Central funds are being misused, corruption dominate all the Central schemes including NREGA and PMGSY, farmers are getting duplicate fertilizers, crime has increased, forest and agricultural lands are being sold to the capitalists and industrialists, local are being ignored and naxal have expanded their domain due to bad governance of the BJP, the PCC members felt.
Urging the partymen to unite to fight against the BJP government, the PCC president Nandkumar Patel said the workers needed to do self-analysis that how successful they were in taking the issues to the public. He said in spite of losing a couple of by-polls, the Congress had succeeded in frustrating the ruling party due to its consolidated strength. “The unity will again be the tool in our mission 2013 to regain power in the state,” he said.
Patel further said that after three successful divisional-level rallies, the party would now conduct district, panchayat, and booth level rallies to expose the scams and irregularities in the government.
The state Congress incharge BK Hariprasada appealed to the partymen to put aside differences and to unite to win the next Vidhan Sabha elections. He also felt that the party’s domain too needed to be enhanced in both urban and rural pockets. He said the responsibility of the PCC office-bearers was to maintain discipline and make efforts to unite the party.
The AICC treasurer Motilal Vora said the Congress was the first party in the nation to raise voice against corruption. “It was on December 20, 2010 at party’s Buradi conference when Congress chief Sonia Gandhi had emphasised on eradication of corruption,” Vora said. Terming senior BJP leader LK Advani’s anti-corruption yatra as sheer pretense, Vora said the BJP should first clean corrupts from its own party.
The Union Minister of State for Agriculture and Food Processing Charandas Mahant said the party supremo had given responsibility to the new PCC executive to win the next Assembly election. He hoped that the party would bring back glorious past of Congress in 2013.
Former Chief Minister Ajit Jogi said there would always be tussle between the partymen obtain ticket for elections but once the list of candidates get finalised, the workers must unite again.
The meeting was attended by all the PCC office-bearers including Vidya Charan Shukla, Arvind Netam, Dhanendra Sahu, Satyanarayan Sharma, Mahendra Karma, Parasram Bhardwaj, etc.
