The Congress paid tribute to former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi on the occasion of her birth anniversary on Saturday. The tribute programme started with garlanding the image of Indira followed by all-religion prayer at 9 am in Congress Bhawan.
On the occasion, the PCC president Nandkumar Patel also administered oath to the partymen. He urged the workers to put aside all the differences and work dedicatedly for the party.
Later, Congress leaders also reached Kalibadi chowk and garlanded the statue of Indira.
The Congress leaders who attended the tribute programme were –PCC vice president, Baijnath Chandrakar former state unit head president Dhanendra Sahu, Satyanarayan Sharma, MLAs Mohammad Akbar, Amitesh Shukla, Kuldeep Juneja, DCC Raipur City president Inderchand Dhariwal, RMC Mayor Kiranmayi Nayak, PMC president Ambika Markam, chairman of PCC media cell Shailesh Nitin Trivedi, party spokespersons Amir Ali Farishta, Mahendra Chhabra, Sushil Anand Shukla, etc.
