The Congress has demanded Rs two lakh compensation for the fire victims of Bairon Bazar. In this connection, the members of DCC Raipur City led by their president Inderchand Dhariwal gheraoed Collector Dr Rohit Yadav on Monday and urged for immediate release of Rs ten thousand for each victim as first installment of the compensation package.
The Congress leaders also asked Collector to provider free-of-cost bamboos and other materials to the fire victims through Forest department to help them raise their houses and shops again.
The Collector accepted both the demands of Congress and assured that first installment of the financial aid as well as logs and bamboos from Forest department would be provided to the victims on Tuesday.
The DCC members who gheraoed Collector were Sheikh Shakeel, Chandrashekhar Yadav, Afroz Anjum, Javed Akhtar, Nitin Thakur, Gopal Nair etc.
