With an objective to develop Sindhi language and its culture, the National Council for Promotion of Sindhi Language (NCPSL) will organise two-day national Sindhi seminar at Bangalore on November 5 and 6. The council’s vice chairman Ramesh Warlyani who will preside over the programme informed on Thursday that Karnataka Governor Hansraj Bhardwaj would be the chief guest at the inaugural session. Warlyani will leave for Bangalore on Friday and would return to Raipur on November 7.
He further informed that professor from Ajmer Dr Kamla Goklani and social worker Renu Idnani from New Delhi would read papers on ‘role of women in development of Sindhi language’ on November 5. Thereafter, Pushpa Warlyani from Raipur, Vimi Sadarangani from Adipur (Gujarat) and Lata Jagtiani and Radhika Sachdev from Bangalore would express their opinion on the two papers. The session would be chaired by Shobha Kalra.
On November 6, author Hero Thakur and journalist Laxman Bhatia ‘Komal’ will present their papers on ‘role of Sindhi panchayats and social organisations in development of Sindhi language. Thereafter, Bharat Watnani, Dayaldas Chandanani, Girdhari Lal, Jagdish Ahuja and Manohar Lal Kalra will discuss on the papers. The session would be chaired by Radhakrishnadas Kalra.
The programme convenor Biharilal Menda informed that large number of representatives of Sindhi society from Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Kerala would participate in the seminar.
