Over 150 partymen likely to attend PCC executive’s first meeting

The Congress will soon constitute new organisational setups for nine new districts of the state. The party would approve the proposal in the regard during the first meeting of PCC executive on November 4. Over 150 partymen including state unit incharge BK Hariprasada, AICC treasurer Motilal Vora, Union Minister of State for Agriculture and Food Processing Charandas Mahant, AICC secretary Bhakt Charandas, Rajya Sabha member Mohsina Kidwai, PCC president Nandkumar Patel and CLP leader Ravindra Choubey along with PCC office-bearers are likely to attend the meeting.
Notably, the government had recently constituted Sukma, Kondagaon, Gariyaband, Bemetara, Balod, Mungeli and Baloda Bazar, Surajpur and Balrampur as new districts. In the PCC’s coordination committee meeting convened at New Delhi on October 21, the members had decided to make nine DCC units in the newly formed districts for effective operation of party activities.
The candidates for presidents and office-bearers of these units too are likely to be finalised by November end, informed sources.
The party has already prepared the agenda of the meeting and would prominently discuss on its next six month-work plan against the BJP government.
To discuss about the preparations of the November 4 meeting, the CLP leader and the PCC head would jointly convene a meeting at the former’s residence at 3 pm on Wednesday. The meeting would be attended by selected PCC office-bearers. According to information, the party is likely to include few more subjects in the agenda of November 4 meeting.
