During state-level conference of Mahila Congress

Raipur, November 19, 2011

The Pradesh Mahila Congress (PMC) incharge and All India Mahila Congress general secretary Asima Mahananda has asked the organisation’s members to start preparing for party’s mission 2013. “This is high time to unite and increase the party activities to win next Assembly elections,” she said during the PMC’s state-level conference organised on the occasion of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi’s birth anniversary at Congress Bhawan on Saturday.
Mahananda said the BJP government in state was anti-people and it had exploited Chhattisgarhias in past eight years. “The objective of the Congress is to unearth the scams and irregularities done by the BJP government in its two terms so that people may once again put their faith on Congress which has always supported them,” she said.
She said the PMC will also raise the rising incidents of women harassment in Chhattisgarh under BJP regime. “The women in the state are insecure under this government. The cases of women abuse are rife her,” Mahananda said.
She said that the PMC also aimed to prepare charge sheet against the BJP government. “This will not only include charges of corruption cases in 16 flagship programmes of Centre but will also comprise of information about those schemes which were commenced for women but could not be implemented effectively because of corrupt system,” she said.
To effectively convey its message, the PMC will also constitute booth-level teams, she said.
The PCC president Nandkumar Patel, who was specially invited in the conference, said it is joint responsibility of all the Congress workers including the members of PCC, PMC, Youth Congress, NSUI and Seva Dal to make the party victorious in the next elections. He urged the PMC members to focus in their work and expand their organisation’s domain at booth level.
The PMC president Ambika Markam urged the PMC members to prove their mettle by consolidating the party and contributing their maximum in its triumph in 2013 polls. Unity is the only mantra through which the party can achieve its goal, she said.
