The Congress has charged that the government had completely failed to contain naxals despite adequate support by the Centre. Former PCC president Dhanendra Sahu, PCC general secretaries Ramesh Warlyani, Fulodevi Netam, Devvrat Singh, Arun Vora and others in a joint statement on Wednesday slammed the government for not taking effective measures to eradicate naxalism in last eight years.
The Congress leaders said even the Union Home Minister P Chidambaram on his November 15 Raipur visit confirmed that the Centre had never flinched in supporting Chhattisgarh to counter naxals and had sufficiently provided funds and forces. “Still, if over one quarter of total naxal violence takes place in Chhattisgarh then it is BJP government’s inability to deal the issue,” they said.
