Devvrat advises negative publicisers to sit at home

Raipur, November 19, 2011

PCC general secretary and Raipur Lok Sabha incharge of Congress Devvrat Singh has advised the workers having propensity to do negative publicity of the party to sit at home till the announcement of 2013 Assembly polls. “We need workers who could establish strong and positive image of the party,” he said during a meeting of Raipur district workers he had called upon at Congress Bhawan on Saturday.  The meeting was attended by the presidents, vice presidents and treasurers of all Block Congress Committees (BCCs).
Singh said there were two types of workers in the party – first -those who engage themselves in their business after getting posts in the party and second – those who dedicatedly works for the party. He said the workers who get posts but doesn’t work should step down and give opportunity to others come forward and handle their assigned task.
Singh held another meeting of  RMC mayor Kiranmayi Nayak and the corporators. He asked the corporators to play the role of coordinator in the organisation.
Singh further said according to directive of PCC president Nandkumar Patel, the office-bearers of all the BCCs should be appointed by November 30. For this, he asked the BCC presidents and vice presidents to expedite the procedures and provide lists of suitable candidates for the post of office-bearer from their respective blocks.
Recently, Patel had instructed all the Lok Sabha incharges to constitute executive bodies of BCCs by November end by evolving consensus on nominated names. In case of dispute during enlistment of candidates, Patel said the executive formation of specific blocks should be kept pending.
Singh further proposed for constitution of a monitoring committee to keep an eye on paddy procurement centres. The objective of the committee formation is to trap irregularities during the procurement process so that the middlemen and the government officials may not put the sizable chunk of farmers’ money in their pockets, he said.
