Congress on Friday lashed at BJP government for misleading people by claiming Chhattisgarh as number one state in the country.
“The government is deceiving people but not informing the actual rank of the state. The fact is Chhattisgarh state has slid to 12th rank at present,” said PCC president Nandkumar Patel and CLP leader Ravindra Choubey.
“The magazine, which had reported that Chhattisgarh was number one state in 2005, has not put the state on 12th position in its recent edition,” they said.
They ridiculed the ruling party for it latest advertisement published in another magazine which said that Chief Minister Raman Singh is the best CM of the country.
“This is wrong information. The government should tell the truth to the people as how its rank slid from number 1 to 12 in last seven years,” they said.
“Surprisingly, Chhattisgarh is the only state which witnessed such a steep fall in the rankings given by the particular magazine. This happened because of increasing corruption in the state and BJP government’s incapability to improve the situation,” they added.
They demanded from the government to stop misusing public money on false advertisements and brood over the state’s low ranking.
