Submits memorandum to State Women’s Commission
Raipur, August 10, 2012
Expressing concern over poor health services across Chhattisgarh, the members of Pradesh Mahila Congress (PMC) have submitted a memorandum to chairperson of State Women’s Commission (SWC) Vibha Rao. They complained her that the increasing health irregularities have resulted in occurrences of uterus removal and eyesight loss incidents.
“It is unfortunate that doctors adopted shortcut route to make fast bucks through smart card scheme by removing uteruses of several women on pretext of cancer. Similarly, large number of patients lost their eyesight when they underwent cataract surgery in government eye camps. This happened due to negligent attitude of the doctors. The death of a woman during recent tubectomy camp is another example of government’s non-seriousness towards health sector,” they said.
“If poor no more trust the government’s health policies and rather prefer private hospitals to government ones for treatment,” they said.
The delegation of PMC was comprised of organisation’s vice presidents Chhaya Verma and Premlata Bhoi, secretary Nivedita Chaterjee, Bhojkumari Yadu, Sunita Sharma, Anita Gurupanch, Vijay Laxmi Naidu, Alka Gurupanch, etc.
