Under child protection month

The Raipur district administration will launch special campaign of vaccination and health check-up programme for children and pregnant women under its child protection month from August 24 to September 30.
The drive aims to vaccinate children dwelling in rural pockets. Besides, the health teams at Aanganbadi-level will do registration of pregnant women and distribute iron and vitamin A tablets. The district administration has done micro-planning at development block-level to make the campaign successful.
The officials of the Health department informed that the field staff would visit door-to-door under the campaign. Meanwhile, the malnourished children would be identified and referred to rehabilitation centres for treatment.
According to information, the district administration will take help of different departments including Women and Child Development Department to reach to the people living in remote rural areas.
Apart from this campaign, the district administration will launch special vaccination week for DPT, polio etc. Under this week the children, who had not been vaccinated amid August-December 2012, would be administered doses of polio and given vaccine of DPT, etc.
