NSUI protests fee hike in engineering colleges

Raipur, August 28, 2012

The NSUI activists have strongly objected over fee hike in engineering colleges by Fee Regulatory Committee (FRC) and demanded quick rollback in the decision. In this connection, they submitted a memorandum to deputy directory of Directorate Technical Education GP Naik on Tuesday.
“We are demanding rollback because FRC has made fee hike effective from previous academic session, i.e. 2011-12. The hike is certainly is unexpected for students and would deeply dent their pockets,” said NSUI worker Naushad Khan.
“We have requested Naik to make the fee hike effective from current academic session to give financial respite to the students,” he said informing that Naik assured the NSUI activists of considering their suggestion during FRC’s meeting scheduled to be held next week.
On the occasion, Khan was accompanied by Abhinash Dubey, Mohammad Akib, Amit Bhagat, Shantanu Shukla, Sagar Sinha, Virendra Sahu, Palash Tiwari, Shubham Soni, Ajay Sinha, Monesh Agrawal, Jeetu Agrawal, Yogesh Sharma, Pawan Thakur, etc.
Another faction of NSUI members gheraoed Chhattisgarh Board of Secondary Education (CGBSE) and demanded to return revaluation fees to the students who have been declared passed.
“The board has returned revaluation fees to the passed students last year but is refusing to do so this year. The NSUI will keep agitating till the board meets its demands,” said the organisation’s Raipur district president Pradeep Sahu. He was accompanied by Gulzeb Ahmed, Gaurav Sahu, Lokesh Verma, etc.
