The NSUI activists have strongly objected over fee hike in engineering colleges by Fee Regulatory Committee (FRC) and demanded quick rollback in the decision. In this connection, they submitted a memorandum to deputy directory of Directorate Technical Education GP Naik on Tuesday.
“We are demanding rollback because FRC has
made fee hike effective from previous academic session, i.e. 2011-12. The hike
is certainly is unexpected for students and would deeply dent their pockets,”
said NSUI worker Naushad Khan.
“We have requested Naik to make the fee
hike effective from current academic session to give financial respite to the
students,” he said informing that Naik assured the NSUI activists of considering
their suggestion during FRC’s meeting scheduled to be held next week.
On the occasion, Khan was accompanied by Abhinash
Dubey, Mohammad Akib, Amit Bhagat, Shantanu Shukla, Sagar Sinha, Virendra Sahu,
Palash Tiwari, Shubham Soni, Ajay Sinha, Monesh Agrawal, Jeetu Agrawal, Yogesh
Sharma, Pawan Thakur, etc.
Another faction of NSUI members gheraoed Chhattisgarh Board of Secondary Education (CGBSE) and demanded to
return revaluation fees to the students who have been declared passed.
“The board has returned revaluation fees to
the passed students last year but is refusing to do so this year. The NSUI will
keep agitating till the board meets its demands,” said the organisation’s Raipur district president
Pradeep Sahu. He was accompanied by Gulzeb Ahmed, Gaurav Sahu, Lokesh Verma,
etc.
