Cong to gherao Collectors in every district from Aug 9


Under it anti-govt movement which will conclude at Raipur on October 1

Congress will launch its anti-govt movement from August 9, the day when country observes Kranti Diwas. The party has decided to gherao Collectors in every district. The movement will conclude at Raipur on October 1, 2012. The decision was taken by the party during a meeting of PCC office-bearers convened by PCC president Nandkumar Patel and CLP leader Ravindra Choubey at Congress Bhawan on Monday.
Under its anti-govt movement the Congress will grill the government on the issues like hike power tariff, black marketing of fertilisers and seeds, etc. It will commence the movement from Bilaspur from August 9 when the local party workers along with their block, district and state representatives gherao the Collector.
The party will gherao other districts on – Dhamtari – August 13, Mahasamund – August 14, Janjgir - August 17, Raigarh - August 21, Durg - August 24, Bemetara - August 27, Kawardha - August 28, Rajnandgaon - August 31, Balod – September 1, Kanker - September 4, Narayanpur - September 6, Mungeli - September 7, Sukma - September 10, Dantewada - September 11, Bijapur - September 12, Jagdalpur - September 13, Kondagaon - September 14, Surajpur - September 18, Balrampur - September 19, Sarguja - September 20, Koria - September 21, Jashpur - September 24, Korba - September 25, Balodabazar - September 27, Gariyaband - September 29 and Raipur – October 1.
In the meeting, it was also decided that the responsibilities of blocks will be given to DCC vice presidents and general secretaries. To regularly communicate with media each DCC will have five-membered media cell. Patel has asked the DCC presidents to prepare lists of workers who would be assigned job of booth management.
The party aims to complete its Vidhan Sabha-level workers’ training camp by December 2012. In August 2012, the party will organise VS-level training camp in Kanker on 22nd, Keshkal –24th, Akaltara – 29th and Balodabazar – 30th.
