Raipur, August 04, 2012
To launch massive movement against government from August 9-20, Congress will frame strategy at Congress Bhawan on August 6. In this regard, PCC president Nandkumar Patel will convene meetings of PCC office-bearers in two parts. CLP leader Ravindra Choubey will be present in both the meetings.
According to information, Patel will conduct first meeting at 12 pm. The meeting will be attended by state vice presidents, general secretaries and chairman of media department.
The second meeting will commence at 2 pm and will be attended by PCC secretaries, presidents of DCCs, cells and morchas.
The objective of the two meetings is to ensure office-bearers of PCC, DCCs, cells and morchas gather massive crowd during party dharna and protest movement.
In its anti-government movement, the party will raise issues like inordinate hike in power tariff, Rs 270 paddy bonus to farmers, black marketing of fertilisers, free electricity to farmers for up to 5 HP pumps for irrigation, use of counterfeit and duplicate medicines in government hospitals, farmers’ suicide cases in different parts of the state, etc. Besides, the party will target government on recent lathicharge on farmers at Naya Raipur.
To thwart protest plans of BJP and its frontal organisations during state Congress incharge BK Hariprasada’s Raipur visit on August 7, Patel is likely to assign tasks to the party office-bearers pertaining to his security. Hariprasada will participate in training camp at Dalli Rajhara under Daundilohara Vidhan Sabha area on the same day.
Ahead of Hariprasada’s visit, the Patel will discuss about long letter being circulated in the party by anonymous people demanding replacement of state unit chief post by a tribal or scheduled caste leader. Hariprasada is said to be upset with increasing factionalism and indiscipline in the party with nearing Assembly polls.
Patel is likely to take inputs from the party office-bearers regarding the letter and would convey the message to Hariprasada on August 7.
