Verma asks PMC members to gear up for 2013 polls

Raipur, August 04, 2012

The national president of Mahila Congress Anita Verma has asked organisation’s state unit members to speed up preparations for 2013 Assembly polls. Her appeal came during women’s conference organised by Pradesh Mahila Congress (PMC) at Jagdalpur on Saturday.
Condemning the BJP government for failing to curb women exploitation, she said the PMC should raise the women-related issues prominently at booth, block, district and state levels.
She advised the PMC members to form groups to publicise Central schemes in both urban and rural areas. She asked them to keep a hawk’s eye on grafts and irregularities in Central schemes being implemented in their respective regions.
She asked PMC president Ambika Markam to increase organisational activities considering less than two years remaining for Vidhan Sabha polls.
The conference was also addressed by PMC incharge Asima Mahanand and national secretary Ayesha Siddiqui. The duo flayed the ruling party for framing anti-people and anti-women policies.
The conference was prominently attended by Kavita Sahu, Sushma Kashyap, Parvati Sahu, Akda Thakur, Bhojkumari Yadu, Premlata Bhoi, Chandrawati Sahu, Sunita Sharma, etc.
