Congress says Chief Minister Raman Singh was adopting appeasement policy towards tribals in wake of police lathicharge on them.
“Strangely, first the police lathicharged on the tribals who took out rally demanding equal constitutional rights and now the CM trying to win their heart by adopting appeasement policy which will not work as the tribals have comprehended that the BJP government is not their well-wisher,” said deputy CLP leader Rampukar Singh, senior MLA Bodhram Kanwar and former CLP leader Mahendra Karma on Friday.
“Hence, when the CM reached to attend Vishwa Adivasi Samaj Diwas at Daundilohara without invitation, he had to face resistance from large number of tribal leaders who categorically said he should not have come after his police took repressive action against peaceful rally of the tribal community,” they said.
“The tribals will increase their protest movements against the CM in future because they are deeply hurt by the BJP’s anti-tribal policies,” they added.
“Similarly, irked by BJP government’s policies against scheduled caste category, the Satnami Samaj too had decided not to allow the CM to attend the Giraudpuri mela. The CM realised that he would have to face resistance from the Satnami Samaj hence he did not attend the mela this year,” they said.
