Dhamtari district prez likely to be removed
Raipur, August 01, 2012
The Congress is planning to expand executive bodies of district Congress committees (DCCs) from 31 to 41. In this connection, PCC president Nandkumar Patel had reportedly taken approval of AICC general secretary and state unit incharge BK Hariprasada at New Delhi.
Patel has also discussed with Hariprasada about infighting in DCC Dhamtari after Dhaneshwari Sahu became president of the district unit. Sahu got the DCC chief post on recommendation of Dhamtari MLA Gurmukh Singh Hora but the local party leaders are opposing her selection from the beginning.
Patel has further talked about quick announcement of Raipur Urban and Mahasamund DCCs pointing that the Assembly elections would be conducted in the state in 2013.
Patel told Hariprasada that the executive bodies of Durg Rural, Balod and Bilaspur Urban could not be constituted due to discord between the local leaders over the names. He said majority of leaders recommend for expanded executive bodies of DCCs so that everyone’s choice could be respected.
