In protest of delay in revaluation results
Raipur, August 06, 2012
The NSUI members on Monday took out a procession of Chhattisgarh Board of Secondary Education (CGBSE) depicting the death of the board. The police stopped the procession before the board office gate and held the NSUI activists.
“We announce the death of the board as it fails to safeguard the interests of the students,” said NSUI’s Raipur district president Pradeep Sahu as he reached the board office along with the NSUI activists.
“We had expected that the board will announce results of revaluation and recounting of class 10th and 12th on August 5 but it remained indifferent towards the students’ future. Earlier, the board secretary had promised to declare the results by August 3. The supplementary exams have started today. Several students who had applied for revaluation could not appear today’s exam as they did not know whether they got supplementary in particular paper or not,” Sahu said.
The NSUI activists who were part of the procession and arrested by the police were Rajsh Nishad, Tarachand Mishra, Mohit Pathak, Pavit Gandhi, Abhishek Kasar, Babla Anant, Rahul Raj Banjare, Rakesh Sahu, etc.
Also submits memo to CPEB
The NSUI activists on Monday submitted memorandum to Chhattisgarh Professional Exam Board’s (CPEB) exam controller Pradeep Choubey seeking revocation of hiked examination fees for 352 vacant posts of assistant development officer.
“Earlier, the exam fee for general category was Rs 500 and reserved category was Rs 350. But now the board has increased the exam fee of general candidates to Rs 700 and reserved category candidates to Rs 500,” said NSUI’s Raipur district president Pradeep Sahu.
“We informed the exam controller that the majority of the candidates hail from financially weaker section of the society and they cannot afford hiked exam fee. We warned him to cancel hike fee in next 48 hours or we will demonstrate aggressively,” he said.
