The national president of Mahila Congress Anita Verma arrived in the state capital through regular flight from New Delhi on Friday evening. She was accompanied by PCC president Nandkumar Patel who too had been to national capital to meet state unit incharge BK Hariprasada and other senior leaders.
The PMC leaders accorded warm welcome to both Verma and Patel at Mana airport. From airport, Verma straightaway proceeded to Kanker. Verma will participate in PMC’s women’s conference at Jagdalpur on Saturday.
She will return to Raipur on August 5 and hold talks with PMC members at Congress Bhawan at 3 pm.
Notably, the PMC’s divisional conference at Bastar aims to mobilise the workers so that they could raise women-related issues in their respective areas. The organisation will organise similar conference in other parts of the state in coming months as its poll preparation strategy.
At airport, Verma and Patel were welcomed by PMC state president Ambika Markam, incharge secretary Asima Mahanand, Ayesha Siddiqui, Nivedita Chaterjee, Asha Israel Joseph, Parvati Sahu, Usha Rajjan Shrivastava, etc.
