NSUI gheraoes Directorate Higher Education

In protest of delay in students’ union polls
Raipur, August 09, 2012
Protesting delay in students’ union polls, the NSUI activists gheraoed Directorate Higher Education on Thursday. They also shook rattle during their protest. “Our protest was symbolic as the government’s assurance regarding students’ union polls too was an attempt to deceive the students by giving them rattle,” said NSUI leader Gulzeb Ahmed after demonstration.
He pointed that on June 28, 2012 Pt RSU’s coordination committee had decided that students’ union polls will be conducted in all the colleges, but the Higher Education department did not take any initiative in that regard.
“The polls procedures are supposed to be completed by August 23 but the government has not yet issued notification in this connection. This proves that the government is scared of NSUI’s popularity and hence avoiding to conduct students’ union polls,” he said.
He warned the government that the NSUI would show black flag to each of its representative if Higher Education department would further stall issuance of notification regarding students’ union polls.
On the occasion, Ahmed was accompanied by Ajay Pal, Shahbaz Hussein, Sheikh Asif, Nadeem Salat, Taru Mishra, Ashish Ghosh, Shashikant Barore, Pankaj Singh, Siddhant Tiwari, etc.
