Rahul Gandhi, Janardan Dwivedi to attend meeting
Chhattisgarh Congress coordination committee is likely to take final decision on senior party legislator Ajit Jogi in its meeting that would be held in presence of AICC vice president Rahul Gandhi and general secretary Janardan Dwivedi at New Delhi on August 26. The meeting becomes more significant at this juncture because the party is embroiled in infighting and confused over Jogi’s status for the past couple of months.
The core meeting will be attended by committee members AICC treasurer Motilal Vora, AICC general secretary and Chhattisgarh Congress incharge BK Hariprasada, PCC president Charandas Mahant and CLP leader Ravindra Choubey.
According to information; Jogi, who too is a core group member, is likely to attend the meeting as he will fly to Delhi on Sunday evening or Monday (August 26) morning.
In the recent past, Jogi has frequently attacked fellow partymen during his solo-events. Moreover, he projected his local supporter as a potential poll candidate wherever he held public meetings. Meanwhile, Jogi’s supporters too expressed that they no more want to remain in Congress, for their leader not getting respect he deserves.
The PCC, instead of replying directly to Jogi, preferred to complain against him to the high command. First, Mahant submitted a comprehensive report about Jogi’s parallel party activities to senior leadership. Then, a couple of senior party leaders gave negative feedback about Jogi to Sonia and Rahul Gandhi.
