Ration card: Cong to monitor distribution process

Terming 10-day period to distribute ration cards to beneficiaries inadequate, Congress on Monday said it would closely monitor distribution procedures. The DCC Raipur Urban president Vikas Upadhyay informed that about 1.75 lakh ration cards would be distributed in Raipur city amidst October 20-30, 2013. “We have urged district administration to stretch card distribution period for convenience of beneficiaries,” he added. He said DCC Raipur Urban had also demanded from Collector to expedite card renewal process.
