Congress on Monday hailed Central approval of Rs 413 crore to Chhattisgarh under Pradhanmantri Gram Sadak Yojna (PMGSY).
The PCC president Charandas Mahant and CLP leader Ravindra Choubey termed the approval as positive step of the UPA government towards development of the state.
They informed a letter regarding the approval of fund had been sent by union rural development minister Jairam Ramesh to chief minister Raman Singh.
The further informed that Central share in the approved fund would be Rs 356 crore. The fund would be used for construction of 132 roads (total length 429 km) and 118 bridges.
