Vora to kick-start Cong’s remove BJP, save CG drive

Hariprasada, Bhakta Charandas, Mohsina Kidwai to arrive

Raipur, August 05, 2013

AICC treasurer Motilal will kick-start Congress’ BJP hatao, Chhattisgarh bachao (remove BJP, save Chhattisgarh) campaign with divisional conference at 1 pm in State High School Rajnandgaon on August 9. On the same day, the party will organise day-long dharna in its district headquarters.

The conference at Rajnandgaon will be attended by Chhattisgarh Congress incharge BK Hariprasada, state incharge secretary and AICC spokesperson Bhakta Charandas, Rajya Sabha MP Mohsina Kidwai, PCC president Charandas Mahant, CLP leader Ravindra Choubey, senior party MLA Ajit Jogi, party programme coordinator Bhupesh Baghel and senior leaders.

The conference will be attended by office-bearers of Rajnandgaon, Durg, Balod and Kawardha district units.
The party decided to start the drive from Rajnandgaon assembly constituency due to two reasons – first, the constituency belongs to chief minister Raman Singh and second, Rajnandgaon is hometown of former Congress MLA Uday Mudliyar who got killed during Darba incident on May 25, 2013.

The party not only aims to gain sympathy vote through the drive but also wants give open challenge to the CM in polls. Recently, the CM had categorically rejected rumours that he was planning to contest upcoming Vidhan Sabha elections from elsewhere, not Rajnandgaon and said that he would fight from the same constituency again.
