Condemning killing of forest minister Vikram Usendi’s kin Summat Usendi by naxals Congress on Saturday said the incident took place due to government’s negligence.
“Usendi was an active public representative. He had been abducted by naxals in the past. The government was expected to provide him adequate security after his kidnapping,” said Congress spokesperson Sushil Anand Shukla.
“Maoists are continuously targeting public representatives in Bastar region. After naxal attack on Congress parivartan convoy in Darbha region on May 25, 2013 it was turn of minister’s kin to fall prey to extremists. If the government is unable to provide security to public representatives then how come it would ensure security of the common people,” he asked.
