Cong will win if tickets given two months before polls: Jogi

A day after putting a notice board on his residence’s gate that poll ticket aspirants should not contact him but directly approach PCC president Charandas Mahant, senior Congress legislator Ajit Jogi on Saturday said Congress would win if tickets would be distributed two months before Vidhan Sabha elections.

Hailing party vice president Rahul Gandhi’s decision to adopt Karnataka formula in Chhattisgarh to select candidates for polls Jogi said the formula would surely click and dethrone ruling BJP.

“The party will certainly get surprising result if tickets would be distributed on the basis of inputs of district and block heads,” he said.

He also welcomed high command’s decision to consider recommendation of only those leaders who would take guarantee of their proposed candidates. “This is how the party would know how capable and powerful these leaders are,” he said.


Ticket aspirants throng Jogi’s residence

Undeterred by Jogi’s notice board, ticket aspirants thronged his residence on Saturday. Several ticket aspirants came with their curriculum vitae (CV) and urged Jogi to propose their names to state unit leadership. Jogi asked them to submit their CVs to PCC chief, but when the persisted, he agreed to forward their applications.
