Senior Congress legislator Ajit Jogi on Friday said planning commission got deceived by Chhattisgarh government’s figures and hence remarked that it did good job in areas like education, health, tribal welfare, irrigation and drinking water.
Jogi said the planning commission should first see ground reality instead of getting convinced by state government’s paper works.
“Majority of government school buildings in state are in ramshackle condition. The education level has sharply declined in the state in past few years. Similarly, irregularities and poor health services has resulted in emergence of cases like eyesight loss in eye camps, hysterectomy, smart card scam and death of patients due to negligence of doctors in government hospitals,” Jogi said.
He said how come Chhattisgarh government claim of carrying tribal welfare works when tribals were migrating. He said the farmers were heavily dependent on rains for irrigation. Besides, he pointed out that there was not supply of potable water in remote areas and tribals usually depend on rivers and ponds.
Hailing the decision of planning commission to give Rs 25250 crore to Chhattisgarh Jogi said it would be better if the commission monitors the works in state to know the truth.
