Hariprasada visits Jogi

While Jogi’s supporters term it as Cong’s soft approach, opponents call it a farewell meeting

Raipur, August 24, 2013

AICC general secretary and Chhattisgarh Congress incharge BK Hariprasada on Saturday evening met senior party MLA Ajit Jogi at latter’s residence and held talks for over thirty minutes. Later, while Jogi clarified that the meeting hovered around political talks, Hariprasada said the former would remain in Congress.

The meeting is said to be the result of exercise done by Jogi’s staunch supporters Anil Tah and Ramdayal Uike who on Saturday morning briefly talked to Hariprasada pertaining to breaking stalemate between former CM and rest of state Congress.

Jogi’s opponents claim that Tah and Uike persistently requested Hariprasada to shell out at least 15-30 minutes to visit former CM for significant talks. They said not too much should be read in Hariprasada-Jogi talks as it could be farewell meeting for the rebel party leader.

Contrarily, Jogi’s supporters say that the party had eventually buckled down and adopted softer approach towards their leader.

Earlier, after his arrival at Raipur and before leaving to Dantewada to participate in party’s kalash yatra, Hariprasada said Jogi is happy not upset. Parrying question whether Jogi would participate in yatra or not, Hariprasada said presence of Mahant and Choubey in the event was more important. Asked whether Jogi was invited in yatra or not, he said every leader had been assigned different task for yatra.
