Only Sonia-Rahul express will in run in CG: Mahant

Raipur, August 14, 2013

Reacting to senior Congress MLA Ajit Jogi’s statement that only Jogi express will run in Chhattisgarh, PCC president Charandas Mahant says there is no place for any type express in state other than Sonia-Rahul express. Mahant, who reached Raipur on Wednesday from New Delhi, clearly hinted that the state Congress was in no mood to tolerate Jogi’s rebel tone and would reply him equally blatantly.

On Jogi’s parallel activities – an evident indicator that the party is polarised, Mahant said the high command had assigned him task of keeping the party united and he was doing that on priority basis.

Asked why Jogi was missing from party’s Rajnandgaon and Ahiwara programmes, Mahant clarified that the former CM was in New Delhi during Rajnandgaon event while he could not attend Ahiwara conference due to his prescheduled programmes.

On resentment between local partymen regarding Jogi projecting his supporters as poll candidates during his events, Mahant admitted that he had received some complaints against senior legislator from the locals and would surely look into the matter.

On possibility of his meeting with Jogi, the PCC chief said he had earlier sought Jogi’s appointment but the latter expressed his unavailability.

Congmen faced identity crisis sans party: Choubey

CLP leader Ravindra Choubey too trained his guns towards Jogi said by saying that the Congmen faced identity crisis sans party. “The Congress leaders should not forget that they are nothing without party,” he said categorically on Wednesday.

On Jogi’s intense tours programmes in different parts of state, he said since all events were being conducted under Congress banner, nobody should deduce any hidden inference from his activities.
