Congress poll panel meet on September 1

Singhdeo, Amitesh become committee’s permanently invited members

Raipur, August 28, 2013

Congress election committee’s second meeting will be held at New Delhi on September 1, 2013. According to information, the panel is likely to finalise candidates of 50 assembly seats. The PCC vice president and MLA TS Singhdeo and MLA Amitesh Shukla will also attend the meeting as they have been inducted in the panel as permanently invited members.

Since, majority of the party leaders are in favour of giving tickets to family members of deceased leaders Nandkumar Patel, Mahendra Karma and Uday Mudliyar, the panel will fix one name each for Kharsia, Dantewada and Rajnandgaon Vidhan Sabha areas.

Meanwhile, ticket aspirants continue to meet party’s state screening committee head CP Joshi regarding their candidate.

The members of the poll panel are AICC treasurer Motilal Vora, Chhattisgarh Congress incharge BK Hariprasada and Rajya Sabha member Mohsina Kidwai, PCC president Charandas Mahant, CLP leader Ravindra Choubey, CLP deputy leader Rampukar Singh, Mohammad Akbar, Dhanendra Sahu, Bodhram Kanwar and Dhanesh Patila, Ajit Jogi and Parasram Bhardwaj.
