Make CM, four ministers co-accused in bank scam: Cong

Raipur, August 02, 2013

Congress on Friday demanded that chief minister Raman Singh and four ministers – Brijmohan Agrawal, Amar Agrawal, Ramvichar Netam and Rajesh Munat should be made co-accused in Indira Priyadarshini bank scam.

“The party also demands filing of case against CM and four ministers under Prevention of Corruption Act (PCA). Besides, another case should be filed against the five for conspiring and creating obstacle in judicial procedures by preventing police in submitting CD of bank manager Umesh Sinha’s narco test report to court,” said PCC general secretary Ramesh Warlyani and party spokesperson Shailesh Nitin Trivedi while talking to scribes at Congress Bhawan.

To confirm truth of narco test report, they produced three documental evidences - report of cooperative department’s joint registrar LL Rayast dated August 19, 2006, RBI’s inspection report dated August 22, 2006 and copy of police challan dated August 2, 2006. “These three evidences also that bank’s board chairperson Rita Tiwari is key accused in the scam,” they said.

They pointed that Sinha gave same statements during narco test and Rayast’s probe team. “The RBI report says that Tiwari and other board members compelled Sinha to make pay orders and demand drafts,” they said.

“Similarly, the notarised receipts seized from Sinha confirm that he had paid Rs 7.55 crore to Tiwari. Therefore, Tiwari has come into defence of Cm and four ministers as the police have evidence against her,” they said.
They alleged that Netam alone received Rs two crore and CM and other three ministers got Rs one crore to cover the scam because the former had overtly threatened to recover remaining Rs one crore from bank officials.

When asked the BJP was planning to release a controversial CD featuring few Congress leaders, the duo said they had anticipated such move from the ruling party which did not hesitate in conspiring to kill Congress leaders at Jiram valley on May 25, 2013.
