YC condemns naxal attack on Patel’s convoy

The Youth Congress (YC) has strongly condemned naxal attack on convoy of PCC president Nandkumar Patel near Udanti bridge in Devbhog on Wednesday. The state YC vice president Deepak Mishra said that the incident took place owing to BJP government’s non-serious attitude towards rising naxal menace in the state.
“The naxals could have attacked Chief Minister Raman Singh’s convoy too. But the government is indifferent. It has not taken any effective measure to curb Maoists,” Mishra said.
He demanded from the CM and Home Minister Nankiram Kanwar to tender resignation on moral grounds in wake of naxal attack on Patel’s convoy.
Former YC president Yogesh Tiwari held the government responsible for the attack. “The state Congress had given information to the local administration that Patel would participate in organisation-level farmers’ conference in Mainpur region about three days before but no security was provided to his convoy,” Tiwari said.
The president of Youth INUC Aijaz Dhebar said that the Maoist attack on Patel confirmed that the government had surrendered before the extremists.
