A delegation of Telga society from Dantewada (South Bastar) met Chief Minister Raman Singh at his residence on Tuesday night. The delegation informed the CM that the people of Telga society dwelling in Barsur, Dantewada, Kuwakonda, Katekalyan, Tumnar, Bhelwada and Bairamgarh were facing problem in obtaining caste certificate owing to some technical error on part of the administration regarding their settlement. The delegation said the people of Telga society should get benefit of scheduled tribe as they were termed as part of Halba tribes before 1950. The CM immediately spoke to Dantewada Collector and asked him to solve the problem of Telga society. He instructed the Collector to launch a special campaign in this connection after rainy season. The delegation was led by legislator Bhima Mandavi and comprised of Anupdhar Nag, Dhasharam Nag, Mehtar Ram Jugdhar, Pawan Kumar and others. On the occasion, Women and Child Development Minister Lata Usendi was also present.
