Govt organises over 1000 women awareness camps



The government organised over 1000 women awareness camps across the state. The Women and Child Development Department organised these camps with an aim to inform the women about their legal rights and developmental schemes launched for them. The officials of the department informed that about four lakh women participated in these camps. Among the participants, there were 54553 women from scheduled caste (SC) category and 183410 from scheduled tribe (ST) category.
The highest number of women participants in awareness camps was from Koria, i.e. 54773 while lowest number was from Bijapur, i.e. 1235.
The number of women participants in others districts was – Raipur – 10200, Durg – 26147, Rajnandgaon – 9258, Kabirdham – 16651, Mahasamund – 24648, Dhamtari – 4979, Jagdalpur – 22539, Dantewada – 23144, Kanker – 21887, Bilaspur – 7353, Korba – 54532, Janjgir-Champa – 16762, Sarguja – 14028, Jashpur – 53221, Raigarh – 36503 and Narayanpur – 11137.
