Governor Shekhar Dutt and Chief Minister Raman Singh on Saturday extended their greetings and wishes to people of the state on the eve of Rathyatra of Lord Jagannath.
The Governor in his message said – “The Rathyatra displays our religious faith and colourful traditions and promotes unity and harmony among various sections of the society.”
“The Rathyatra is also a symbol of cultural similarity shared between Chhattisgarh and Odisha,” he added.
The CM said - “Lord Jagannath, Lord Balram and Subhadra hold a lot of significance in the festival and the deities are highly revered across the country including the tribal state.”
He also called upon the people to forget differences and work towards the development and prosperity of the country on the occasion.
