The applications under Forest Department’s Shiksha Protsahan Yojana (SPY) can be submitted till July 30. Notably, to encourage the talented children of tendu leaf pluckers, the state government has started SPY under which it felicitates the school students with cash award for securing highest marks in class 6th, 8th and 12th. The officials informed that the cash award for class 6th toppers will be Rs 2000, class 8th - Rs 2500 and class 12th - Rs 3000. Besides, the government has also started scholarship programme after class 12th for the talented children of tendu leaf pluckers under SPY. The officials informed that the children will receive Rs 25000 if they will choose any professional course to pursue their graduation course. The scholarship would be given in four installments – Rs 10000 in the first part and Rs 5000 each in next three consecutive parts.
