Cong hails hike in Aanganbadi workers’ stipend


The PCC has hailed the decision of UPA government to double the stipend of the Aanganbadi workers. In this connection, the PCC president Nandkumar Patel and leader of Congress legislators (CLP) Ravindra Choubey on Monday expressed their gratitude towards party supremo and UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and said over thousands of Aanganbadi workers of Chhattisgarh would be benefited by hike in their stipend. The duo said the Aanganbadi workers and assistants were radical part of unified child development scheme that was commenced by former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi in 1975. With the hike in their stipend, the Aanganbadi workers will now receive Rs 3000 (earlier it was Rs 1500) and Aanganbadi assistants will get Rs 1500 (earlier it was Rs 750).
