Former Chief Minister Ajit Jogi has alleged that the state government was apathetic towards unemployed SC/ST youths. Pointing out towards over 10000 vacant seats reserved for SC/ST, Jogi said the government instead of filling such posts quickly was rather busy in gaining cheap popularity by distributing bicycles and schoolbags. “The government always deceives people by giving advertisements pertaining to recruitment of SC/ST candidates but never fills the posts with the eligible ones. Instead, it rather fills the vacant reserved posts by giving contractual appointment to the candidates of general category,” Jogi said. He demanded from the government to instantly start special recruitment drive to fill all the vacant SC/ST posts by constituting special cells in each district to carry out the task. He said the state government should adopt transparent policy to use the funds released by the Centre for schemes related to SC/ST people.
