Cong slams govt for no stock of seeds, fertilisers in societies

The Congress has demanded from the district administration to quickly provide seeds and fertilisers to the farmers through cooperative societies. In this connection, the Raipur DCC workers led by PCC president Nandkumar Patel submitted a memorandum to Additional Collector on the name of Collector Dr Rohit Yadav on Tuesday.
In the memorandum, the Congress raised its strong objection over unavailability of seed and fertiliser stock in cooperative societies. “It is surprising that the seeds and fertilisers are abundantly available in the market but not in the cooperative societies. This indicates that the government is deliberately encouraging black marketing of seeds and fertilisers,” Patel said.
Earlier, the Congress workers took out a padyatra from Congress Bhawan to Collectorate. Considering large number of Congress workers, the district administration had pressed sufficient police personnel to prevent them to enter into the Collectorate premises.
When the Congmen reached Collectorate, they had heated exchanges with the cops for not being allowed to move ahead to the Collector’s office. Later, when the police informed that the Collector was on leave, the Congress workers submitted the memorandum to the Additional Collector.
In the padyatra, Patel was accompanied by legislators Amitesh Shukla, Kuldeep Juneja, Dr Renu Jogi, Agni Chandrakar and Paresh Bagbahra along with former PCC president Dhanendra Sahu, Satyanarayan Sharma, PCC incharge general secretary Subhash Sharma, PCC media incharge Mahendra Chhabra, Bhupesh Baghel, PCC spokesperson Rajendra Tiwari, Pradesh Mahila Congress working president Kalpana Patel, RMC Mayor Kiranmayi Nayak, DCC general secretary Suresh Mishra and others party workers in large number.
