Only four attend Cong monitoring committee meet

Irked by absence of committee members, chairman announces to convene another meeting next week

The meeting of Congress monitoring committee convened at Congress Bhawan on Wednesday proved futile as only four district incharges were turned out while the remaining were missing. Irked by the irresponsible attitude of the absent district incharges, the committee chairman Arvind Netam announced to convene another meeting in next 7-8 days.
Notably, the party supremo Sonia Gandhi had recently constituted monitoring committee along with coordination and disciplinary committees to oversee flagship programmes of the UPA government in Chhattisgarh.
In this connection, the general secretary incharge of the state unit BK Hariprasada had appointed district-wise monitoring committee incharges to prepare reports against BJP government’s failure in implemented Centrally-sponsored schemes.
On Wednesday, Netam had called upon a meeting of all the district incharges along with their reports but only Tarun Chaterjee, Chandraprakash Bajpayee, Imran Memon and Ghanaram Sahu arrived.
The party has given responsibility of Raipur Urban, Dhamtari and Mahasamund to Tarun Chaterjee. He presented reports of Dhamtari and Mahasamund and said he is preparing reports with documental evidence of Raipur Urban.
In the meeting, Ghanaram Sahu presented reports of Durg urban and Rural. Former state organiser of Sewa Dal Chandraprakash Bajpayee said that he would produce reports of Sarguja and Koria in the next meeting as he is yet to gather data against government. Similarly, the incharge of Rajnandgaon Urban & Rural and Kawardha Imran Memon said he too would submit the reports in next meting.
The district incharges who were absent from the meeting were - Ganeshshankar Bajpayee – incharge Raipur Rural and Janjgir-Champa, Devvrat Singh – Bilaspur urban & Rural and Korba Urban & Rural, Chanesh Ram Rathiya – Raigarh Urban & Rural and Jashpur, Fulodevi Netam – Jagdalpur Urban and Narayanpur and Jhitruram Baghel – Bijapur and Dantewada.
