Govt must reduce VAT: Jogi

Former Chief Minister and senior Congress leader Ajit Jogi has demanded from the state government to reduce value added tax (VAT) on daily-use items including petroleum products to give relief to the people. He said BJP should take firm steps to check price rise instead of merely staging dharnas against Centre. “The BJP is playing cheap politics to deceive people, but the Congress will not keep quiet and is committed to expose the government,” Jogi said. “Anarchy prevailed in the state due to lawlessness, corruption and illegal sale of liquor, but the BJP government has still kept its eyes closed,” he added.
