Jogi hails SC decision on Salva Judum

Former Chief Minister Ajit Jogi has hailed the decision of Supreme Court (SC) on Salva Judum on Tuesday and said he had opposed the movement from the beginning when the government started. The SC termed the Salva Judum illegal and unconstitutional. The apex court also asked the government to recall all the arms given to special police officers (SPOs). “On pretext of Salva Judum, the BJP government evicted the poor tribals from their houses and compelled them to live in the camps which lacked basic facilities,” Jogi said. Holding the state government responsible for rising naxal violence in the state and staking lives of thousands of the tribals on the name Salva Judum, Jogi said the Chief Minister Raman Singh should tender his resignation on moral grounds.
