The Pradesh Kisan Congress (PKC) has alleged that none of the state cooperative societies have stock of fertilisers and seeds owing to which the farmers were facing inconvenience. “The officials of the cooperative societies do not even give proper information to the representatives of the farmers when they inquire about availability of stock,” said the PKC’s chief spokesperson Alok Pandey on Tuesday. “While the cooperative bank says that the societies were not getting seeds and fertilisers due to lack of transportation facility,” he added.
“It is unfortunate that the Agriculture Minister Chandrashekhar Sahu is apathetic towards the requirement of the farmers. His indifferent attitude proves that the BJP government is anti-farmer,” he said.
The PKC warned the government of launching aggressive statewide agitation if the farmers would not get sufficient seeds and fertilisers in next two days.
