The Congress has started preparing for its statewide December 9 jail bharo andolan with its demand from the government to disburse Rs 270 paddy bonus. The party plans to stage dharna in all the 90 Vidhan Sabha from 12-4 pm followed by jail bharo andolan. During dharna, the party will also raise other issues like graft cases in government departments as well as Centrally sponsored schemes, eye camp incidents, sale-purchase of tribal lands, sale of river water, increasing crime and naxal violence, black marketing of fertilisers, etc.
The Congress announced about its jail bharo andolan plan during the party’s recently held district-level workers’ meeting at Balod. The state Congress incharge BK Hariprasada too expressed his satisfaction over the party’s move to give hiccups to the government through its unique protest movements before commencement of state Assembly’s winter session.
To make the dharna and jail bharo andolan successful, the PCC president Nandkumar Patel has directed the Lok Sabha incharge to conduct meetings of the workers of their areas and gather large crowd on December 9.
