Sonia nods for 11 new DCCs in state


Patel meets Hariprasada, submits prospective list of candidates

Raipur, December 22, 2011

Congress Supremo Sonia Gandhi has given approval to the state Congress to constitute 11 new District Congress Committees (DCCs).
The PCC president Nandkumar Patel on Thursday reached New Delhi and has submitted list of prospective candidates for the DCCs to state unit incharge BK Hariprasada.
Patel has also received a Gandhi’s approval letter from Hariprasada. The new DCCs are likely to come into existence by January 1, 2012.
Patel also met AICC treasurer Motilal Vora and Union Minister of Agriculture and Food Processing Charandas Patel. According to information, Patel has given three names each for 11 DCCs.
The new DCCs would be constituted in Bemetara, Balod, Baloda Bazar, Gariyaband, Mungeli, Surajpur, Balrampur, Kondagaon, Sukma, Bijapur and Narayanpur.
Notably, the proposal for 11 new DCCs had been unanimously approved by the party during its first PCC executive meeting which held in November 4, 2011.
