The state Assembly on
Thursday passed Chhattisgarh Private University (Establishment &
Regulation) (Amendment) Bill. The bill was tabled by Higher Education Minister
Hemchand Yadav who said that the amendment in the Bill would allow renowned
private universities to come to Chhattisgarh. Speaking during debate on the
bill, the BJP members Subhau Kashyap and Deepak Patel felt that it would open
new avenues for the state’s youth.
