The PCC general secretary Devvrat Singh and Raipur Lok Sabha incharge Devvrat Singh convened a meeting of presidents of Block Congress Committees (BCCs) at Congress Bhawan on Tuesday.
In the meeting, Singh reviewed party activities initiated by BCCs in past couple of months and announced events to be organised in the first fortnight of January 2012.
He said workers’ meetings should be organised in every block in January 2012 and party’s veteran leaders should be felicitated in such programmes.
Assigning responsibilities to the BCC presidents pertaining to party’s mission 2013, he asked them to submit list of polling centres of their blocks by January 6, 2012.
He further asked BCC heads of rural belts to take stock of paddy procurement procedures of their blocks from party’s monitoring committees constituted for specific areas. He directed the BCC presidents to strongly protest on finding any irregularity at paddy procurement centres. He also discussed about new executive bodies of BCCs with the block presidents.
The BCC presidents who attended the meeting were Mamta Rai, Ghanshyam Raj Tiwari, Avtar Singh Saini, Sunita Sharma, Aswant Sahu, Sushil Sharma, Kartik Ram Lakhe, Dhanraj Mandhani, Akda Thakur, Ganga Yadav, Vipin Mishra, Baleshwar Sona, etc.
The other Congress members who attended the meeting were - PCC secretary Ayesha Siddiqui, Shiv Singh Thakur, Suresh Mishra, Dr Niranjan Haritwal, Rais Khan, Manish Dayal, Nitin Thakur, Mohammad Tahir and others.
