Ahmed Patel to deal CG Cong infighting

Raipur, October 04, 2012

In the backdrop of growing infighting and factionalism in Chhattisgarh Congress, the state unit incharge BK Hariprasada and PCC president Nandkumar Patel had sought high command’s help. According to information, Ahmed Patel – the political secretary to Congress supremo Sonia Gandhi will hold talks with Hariprasada and Nandkumar Patel on Friday pertaining to recent developments in the party that are said to be ‘strong negative factors’ and ‘major obstacles’ in state unit’s mission 2013 and 2014.

Nandkumar Patel, who has already briefed Hariprasada about increasing dominance of Ajit Jogi faction, is said to be worried that the party’s image makeover exercise done by his team in past one and a half years would prove futile if the senior leaders would not stop fighting.

While Union Minister of State and Korba MP Charandas Mahant, CLP leader Ravindra Choubey, former PCC president Dhanendra Sahu and party general secretary Bhupesh Baghel have indirectly launched fresh salvo against Ajit Jogi via his son Amit for his ‘increased activities’ sans organisation’s permission, the Jogis seemed unperturbed as is evident from their recent rally at Dongargaon organised by party worker Vibha Sahu.

Miffed by adamant attitude of the Jogis and in the backdrop of allegations and counter-allegations between Jogi faction and the other factions, Nandkumar Patel has requested the high command to solve matter.

According to information, the party cannot afford to take action against any senior leader with next assembly polls scheduled in 2013, hence the entire effort would be to end the stalemate between the conflicting heavyweights and to persuade them to put aside their personal ambition and coordinate with each-other in consolidating the state unit.
