Mahila Congress to protest against govt in every district


Raipur, October 18, 2012

Pradesh Mahila Congress (PMC) will soon launch district-wise protest movement against government. The decision was taken during a meeting convened by organisational president Ambika Markam at Congress Bhawan on Thursday.

“The party will attack the government for its anti-women attitude. The uterus removal and tubectomy cases are adequate eye-openers for the people about government recklessness towards women’s health,” said PMC secretary and spokesperson Nivedita Chaterjee.

In the meeting, the organisation condemned state Mahila Ayog president’s remark on misuse of smart cards and uterus removal case terming it derogatory.

The PMC office-bearers also chalked out strategy for organisation’s upcoming state-wide events.

On the occasion, the organisational office-bearers including Akada Thakur, Amarjeet Kaur, Bhojkumari Yadu, Sulochana Thakur, Ajanta Kaviraj, Parvati Sahu, Premlata Bhoi, Asha Israel Joseph, Chandrawati Sahu, Ganga Yadav, etc were present.
