Jogi faction hits back at senior Cong leaders

The Ajit Jogi faction on Monday hit back at Union Minister of State Charandas Mahant and other senior Congress leaders for targeting Amit Jogi and said while Jogi’s son intensely worked at ground-level by leading protest movements and padyatras against BJP government in every part of state in past two years, the so-called leaders had no achievements to boast during the same period.

“Amit Jogi conducted padyatras in naxal-infested areas fearlessly while the so-called senior Congress leaders were frightened to visit such places,” said the YC state president Uttam Vasudev along with YC and NSUI office-bearers in a written statement.

“It was Amit Jogi who led the YC and NSUI members in agitations against the government for forcibly acquiring agricultural lands for industrialists in Janjgir, Raigarh and Korba. The police barbarically lathicharged on activists but none of the so-called senior Congress leaders came for their rescue,” vasudev said.

“Under Amit Jogi, the YC and NSUI members also launched campaign to close down liquor shops, against hike in power tariff and frequent power cuts. The Raman Singh-government arrested and lodged several cases against the activists but none of the Jogi opponents protested this repressive action,” he pointed.

He said the Congress leaders opposing Jogi had actually lost their grip at ground-level and hence were feeling lost and frustrated. He said the Jogi opponents must tell the public the number of cases the ruling party had registered against them.

“Unfortunately, when the Jogi faction was working for the party and protesting against the government, the Jogi opponents were supporting BJP to operate salva judum,” he charged.

He said the senior leaders, instead of entangling in allegations and counter-allegations, must rather attack the BJP government unitedly. “Under Amit Jogi’s guidance we all are ready to hit at the ruling party,” he added.

The party has obviously divided once again into two parts – the Jogi faction and the Jogi opponents. The anti-Jogi camp comprises of all other factions who have joined hands to wipe out predominance of former chief minister and his son from the party. However, the Jogi stalwarts have decided to reply the opponents in the same tone whenever they would launch verbal assault against the father-son duo.

The YC and NSUI office-bearers who maintain the same tone for Jogis as does Vasudev are –Abhishek Modi, Danish Rafeeque, Sandeep Sahu, Sukhbai Khunte, Mehul Maru, Saket Shukla (all YC state general secretaries), Vinod Tiwari, Govind Shetty, Ayub Khan, bund Kunwar, Harish Lakhma, Amit Menon, Anand Pawar, Ashok Sonwani (all YC Lok Sabha presidents), NSUI vice president Subodh Haritwal, Tikesh Pratap, Virendra Laharsan, Hina Lahre, Asmita Chelak, Vidhi Namdev, Bhugendra Manhar, Abhinav Ravte, Basant Pratap Singh, Pradeep Sahu, Anant Singh, Rahul Singh, Gaurav Chandrakar, Haleem Khan, Prakash Pawar, Sachin, Pradeep Banerjee, Limbaram Sharma, Amit Bhadra and Laxman Karte.
